A member of Aiven's team joined Clustr's six-week AI-Native GTM Cohort to learn how AI fits a real sales cycle. This is a short story about one person, not a company-wide program.

A member of Aiven's team, the Helsinki-based open-source data platform company, took part in Clustr's AI-Native GTM Cohort from July to August 2026. Over six weeks of live sessions they used AI for account research, outreach, pipeline management, and deal review on their own accounts, with progress measured by SINA, our AI literacy platform.
| Company | Aiven |
|---|---|
| Industry | Open-source data infrastructure (software and SaaS) |
| Headquarters | Helsinki, Finland |
| Scope | One team member, as part of a multi-company cohort |
| Program | AI-Native GTM Cohort, July 21 to August 25, 2026 |
| Format | Live virtual, 11 sessions over six weeks |
| Measurement | SINA baseline and re-assessment |
The same curriculum as every cohort member, applied to Aiven's own go-to-market: a technical product, a technical buyer, and a sales cycle that runs across time zones.

Open-source data infrastructure
Aiven runs managed open-source data services in the cloud, so its buyers are technical and its accounts take real research to understand. In the cohort, the Aiven participant learned seven AI patterns and applied them to their own work, alongside sellers from RingCentral, Elire, and R Cubed.
A structured research brief on a real target account, held in a persistent project workspace that keeps improving with each use.
A reusable outreach tool loaded with the ICP, positioning, and example emails, and a multi-channel sequence for real accounts.
Multi-turn deal-prep threads, pipeline review, and a live review of a real open deal using everything built so far.
We are grateful Aiven trusted us with a seat in the cohort. No Aiven systems or customer data were connected; every workflow was set up in the participant's own approved tools.
The research-to-outreach workflow the Aiven participant built, the same one every cohort member built.
A real account from the seller's own list.
Signals gathered into a persistent project workspace.
ICP, positioning, and example emails already loaded.
The human side of selling stays with the seller.
A sequence ready to send the same day.
One participant is a small sample, and we do not claim company-wide results. It is still a useful pattern for software teams deciding how to start.
Sending one or two sellers to a cohort is a low-risk way to test whether AI changes their week before a team-wide program.
Technical products need technical context. Loading positioning, ICP, and example messaging into a configured tool is what makes the output usable.
The patterns and tools a participant builds can be shared with their team, which is often how a company-wide program begins.
